Getting ready for a ski trip is fun. You choose the location, check out new outfits and ski gear, watch the forecast and live every day in anticipation of that time when you’ll be on your way to the slopes. While the runs are ready, are you? A lot of people assume that being in shape is all they need to be physically prepared for skiing. Once they get to the slopes and ski for a couple of hours, they start to feel their heart racing, lower back aching, quads screaming and realize that even walking for the next few days will be somewhat challenging.
Ever since I discovered vin chaud and learned how to ski, I can hardly wait for a ski season to begin. I love exploring new ski resorts and all the best they have to offer. This year my choice fell on Verbier, Switzerland. As I later found out, not a lot of people in the U.S. heard about this gorgeous ski destination even though it has been the resort of choice of crème de la crème for many years and it is recognized as one of the premiere “off-piste” resorts in the world.
In this video I introduce you to some of my favorite ab exercises. You don’t need any special equipment and you can do them absolutely anywhere: at home, on the beach or on the floor.
The best part about these exercises is that you only need five minutes! I recommend to begin with doing each exercise for a minute. Three times a week is all you need, because just like any muscle, your abs need rest after a good workout.
And finally, most important, eat clean. It is just as important as working out on a regular basis. Remember: “Abs are made in the kitchen.”
Alright, we have five exercises, five minutes, let’s do this!
